Common Questions
We charge £50/hr for 1 man + van and £65/hr for 2 men + van. The minimum booking is 2 hours, with additional time billed in 30-minute increments. There are no hidden charges — fuel, loading and unloading are all included. The Congestion Charge, where applicable, is passed on at cost with zero markup. For large or complex moves we can provide a fixed-price quote so you know exactly what to budget.
Only if your move requires our van to enter the Congestion Charge zone on a weekday between 7am and 6pm. The charge is currently £15 per day and is passed on to you at cost — no markup, no handling fee. Most of our moves in West and South West London (Chiswick, Ealing, Putney, Richmond, Twickenham, Hounslow and surrounding areas) do not involve the zone at all. We always confirm whether the charge applies to your specific route at the time of booking, so there are no surprises on move day.
We cover all London boroughs and postcodes. Our deepest expertise is across West and South West London — Chiswick W4, Hammersmith W6, Ealing W5, Acton W3, Fulham SW6, Kensington W8, Notting Hill W11, Shepherd's Bush W12, Battersea SW11, Clapham SW4, Wandsworth SW18, Putney SW15, Richmond TW9, Kew TW9, Twickenham TW1, Hounslow TW3, Isleworth TW7, Feltham TW13, Brentford TW8 and all surrounding postcodes. We also carry out long-distance moves to anywhere in the UK.
It depends on your street and borough. In areas like Kensington, Chelsea, Hammersmith and central London, a formal parking suspension from the council is almost always required and must be applied for at least 5 working days before your move. In outer West London — Ealing, Hounslow, Richmond — parking is often manageable without a formal suspension. We assess the parking situation for every booking and advise you exactly what is needed. If a suspension is required, we will walk you through the application process step by step.
Yes — London Moverz is fully insured for public liability and goods in transit. All moves are covered from the moment we start loading to the moment we place the last item in your new property. For premium apartment buildings in areas like Kensington and Notting Hill that require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) before permitting removal companies on site, we provide this documentation as standard — just let us know when you book.
For weekend and end-of-month moves, we recommend booking at least one week in advance — these slots fill quickly across London. For moves in premium areas like Kensington where a parking suspension is needed, two weeks is ideal to allow time for the council application. For weekday moves, 2 to 3 days notice is usually sufficient. That said, we do accept same-day and last-minute bookings when our schedule allows — call or WhatsApp us and we will tell you honestly what we can do.
Fill in our online booking form, call us on Call: 07897 383022, or message us on Message on WhatsApp. We confirm availability within the hour, 7 days a week from 7AM to 9PM. We will ask for your collection and delivery addresses, an idea of the volume of belongings, and your preferred date and time — and we will have a confirmed booking back to you fast.
Yes — we operate 7 days a week, 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, including Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, at no extra charge. Weekend availability is very popular so we recommend booking ahead, particularly for Saturdays and end-of-month slots.
Why Choose Us
Nearly a decade in London. Thousands of moves. One consistent standard.
We operate out of Chiswick W4 — not a call centre, not a franchise. The same owner-operated team that answers your call is the team that shows up on move day. We have been part of the West London community for nearly a decade and our reputation reflects that.
We know which Kensington streets need parking suspensions two weeks out. We know Twickenham Stadium match days and Kew Gardens event nights. We know the Hammersmith gyratory and which Notting Hill mews are too narrow for a Luton. This knowledge saves time — and on an hourly rate, time is money.
Every van carries moving blankets, ratchet straps, furniture dollies, sack trucks and corner protectors as standard — not as extras. We are fully insured for public liability and goods in transit, and we can provide COI documentation for premium buildings that require it. Your belongings are in safe hands from the moment we start loading.
£50/hr for 1 man + van. £65/hr for 2 men + van. Minimum 2 hours. Additional time in 30-minute increments. The Congestion Charge passed on at cost with zero markup. No fuel surcharges. No stair charges. No hidden fees. The price we quote is the price you pay.
Hundreds of five-star Google reviews from real customers across London. Phrases that come up again and again: "punctual", "careful with our things", "professional", "would use again". We have never bought a review and we have never needed to — the work speaks for itself.
We confirm availability within the hour, every day from 7AM to 9PM. Call us, WhatsApp us or book online — whatever works for you. Same-day bookings are accepted when our schedule allows. Based in Chiswick, we can reach most of West and South West London within 20 minutes.
Important to Know
Honest, clear information about how the London Congestion Charge affects your removal.
What Is the Congestion Charge?
The London Congestion Charge is a daily fee charged to vehicles entering the central London zone. It currently costs £15 per day and applies Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm. It does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays or bank holidays.
The zone covers roughly the area within the Inner Ring Road — bounded by Marylebone Road and Euston Road to the north, Tower Bridge to the east, Vauxhall Bridge Road to the south, and Park Lane to the west. Some parts of West London that might seem central — Hammersmith, Fulham, Battersea, Kensington — are actually outside or on the edge of the zone.
How We Handle It
We always confirm at booking whether your specific move will involve the zone. If it does, the £15 charge is passed on to you at cost — no markup, no handling fee, ever.
If your schedule is flexible and your move involves the zone, we will always offer the option of an early morning start (before 7am) or a weekend move to avoid the charge entirely. The choice is always yours — we will never push a more expensive option.
Which London Areas Are Outside the Zone?
The following areas — where the majority of our work takes place — are outside the Congestion Charge zone and incur no charge for moves that stay within them:
Chiswick W4 · Acton W3 · Ealing W5 · Hammersmith W6 · Shepherd's Bush W12 · Fulham SW6 · Battersea SW11 · Clapham SW4 · Wandsworth SW18 · Putney SW15 · Richmond TW9 · Kew TW9 · Twickenham TW1 · Hounslow TW3 · Isleworth TW7 · Feltham TW13 · Brentford TW8 · Hanwell W7 · Southall UB1 · Greenford UB6 · Perivale UB6 · Park Royal NW10 · Notting Hill W11 · Earlsfield SW18 · Tooting SW17 · Battersea SW11 · Barnes SW13
Note: Kensington W8 is within or adjacent to the zone and the charge typically applies for weekday moves. We confirm all positions at the time of booking.
Expert Advice
Nearly a decade of London removals has taught us exactly what makes a move go smoothly — and what derails it. Here is what we know.
Book Your Parking Suspension Early
If you are in a Controlled Parking Zone — which covers most of inner London — you need a formal parking suspension from your local council. Allow a minimum of 5 working days, and 10 days for Kensington and Chelsea. Failing to arrange this is the single most common cause of delayed and expensive moves in London. We advise on every booking whether a suspension is needed and which council to contact.
Start Early in the Morning
A 7am or 8am start is almost always better than a 10am one in London. Roads are quieter, parking is easier, building lifts are free and you have the whole day ahead. End-of-month moves are particularly competitive — early starters consistently have smoother days. We are available from 7AM every day of the week.
Declutter Before You Pack
Every box and item we carry costs time — and time is money on an hourly rate. Before you pack, go through every room and be ruthless. Charity shops, Facebook Marketplace, Freecycle and skip hire are all your friends. Moving a smaller, curated load is genuinely cheaper, faster and less stressful. The average London move has 15 to 20% items that could be discarded — and never missed.
Label Every Box Clearly
Write the destination room on every box — in large letters, on the top and the side. This lets our team place each box directly in the right room at the new property without asking you 40 times. It also makes unpacking dramatically faster. Mark fragile boxes on all sides, not just the top — boxes get turned and stacked in ways you cannot predict.
Confirm Building Access at Both Ends
If you are moving from or into an apartment building — particularly a new-build or a premium block — contact building management before your move date. Loading bays and goods lifts often need to be pre-booked, sometimes a week or more in advance. Arriving without a booking can mean your move is turned away entirely. We guide every customer through this process when we take the booking.
Pack a Moving Day Essentials Bag
Pack a separate bag — not a box — that travels with you rather than in the van. Include: phone charger, kettle, tea and coffee, a mug, toilet roll, a change of clothes, important documents, keys, medications and anything you will need in the first few hours. The rest of your belongings can take time to unpack. The essentials bag means you can function the moment you arrive.
Measure Before Move Day
The single item most likely to cause problems on move day is a large sofa or wardrobe that does not fit through a doorway or around a staircase bend. Measure your largest items and measure the narrowest point in the exit and entry routes before move day — doorway widths, staircase heights and any tight corners. If something will not fit, it is far better to know in advance so we can plan a solution (sometimes that means removing a door, sometimes disassembly) rather than discovering it on the day.
Avoid Match Days and Major Events
London's events calendar can derail an otherwise well-planned move. Twickenham Stadium England rugby internationals (February to March and November), the Notting Hill Carnival (August bank holiday weekend), the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race (late March, Putney to Mortlake), Wimbledon Championships (late June to early July) and Chelsea FC or Fulham FC home matches all create localised traffic chaos and parking restrictions. We check the events calendar for your area when you book and flag any potential conflicts proactively.
Disassemble Flat-Pack Furniture in Advance
Large IKEA wardrobes, bed frames and shelving units are much faster to move when disassembled. If you can take them apart before move day and keep all the fixings in a labelled bag taped to the main piece, you will save significant time. If you are not sure whether something should be disassembled, ask us when you book and we will advise based on your specific items and the access at both properties.
Notify Everyone of Your New Address
This sounds obvious but it is consistently the most forgotten task. Before you move: update your address with your bank, DVLA, GP, dentist, HMRC, electoral roll, TV Licence, insurance providers, subscriptions and any direct debits. Set up Royal Mail's redirection service as a safety net — it costs around £40 for 6 months and catches anything you missed. Start the list two weeks before move day and work through it systematically.
